Business Development Manager (Eastern United States and Canada)

In order to further expand our US team we are searching for multiple new colleagues for the role of Business Development Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Manager (BDM) will visit potential customers as well as existing business partners in order to create new business and promote the Paneltim portfolio in their region. The goal is to quickly build logical and well balanced customer base in the designated region.
  • The typical profile of customers to be served will be B2B; specifically:  thick plastic fabricators, OEMs capable of fabricating solid plastic panels, and plastic wholesale distributors. 
  • The BDM will focus on large potential users that could buy/convert Paneltim polypropylene hollow panels in replacement of thick solid plastic and historic materials such as wood, metal, polyester, HPL, concrete, etc.
  • The BDM must be capable to think strategically about how to approach new, ideal business partnerships across multiple channels; sometimes working directly with consumer or other times through or with other channel partners. 
  • The BDM will also be responsible to maintain departmental structure for multi-channel volume based pricing, and negotiate pricing and conditions with customers on specific/unique projects.
  • A BDM will acquire a thorough understanding of end customers’ needs and requirements of key Paneltim historic market segments. 
  • A strong BDM selection is capable of focusing on applications for Paneltim with multiple USPs (sustainable sales positions); and when identifying new opportunities and application ideas, being skilled at sharing these discoveries with global colleagues for reproduction in other countries. 
  • This BDM is expected to quickly expand relationships with distributors, plastic fabricators and OEMs through continuous interaction and support.  Repeat sales and growth trends with fewer significant customers is more desirable than one-off orders from many (new) accounts. 

Your profile

  • Very result driven sales profile
  • 10 years of effective sales experience
  • Work experience in the following sales disciplines/channels: 
    • Plastic wholesale sales/account development and management
    • Plastic fabricator sales
    • Application and technical sales to OEMs and users
  • Experienced in “advancing the sale,”  negotiating price/closing and making introductions
  • Self-starter, needs to be able to quickly take the lead in the region, without daily involvement from a physically present manager (will be remotely managed out of Europe)
  • Skilled communicator, written and spoken, fluent in English and  working skill with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint  (for Canada, proficient in French would be a plus)
  • Ability to work smart, requiring little administrative support using technology/tools and staff provided
  • Positive and collaborative personality … an ambassador, orchestrator and friendly/helpful/sharing teammate
