Fusion Australia used Paneltim Multipower panels to fabricate 21 tanks for Brolos live lobster holding facility in Welshpool, Western Australia.
The tanks are 23 m long with an 80-tonne lobster holding capacity. Brolos’s facility has a total live lobster holding capacity of 220 tonnes.
Fusion chose Paneltim panels for the project as Paneltim has superior strength and rigidity due to the internal cross-rib cell structure of the panels. This ensured the structural integrity of the tanks was not compromised when filled with water.
“The project presented some interesting challenges due to the sheer size of the tanks. Thanks to meticulous planning and teamwork the project was a huge success”, says Malcolm Ling, Managing Director, Jenso.
Paneltim Multipower panels are easy to handle and weld together, which helped Fusion meet the strict deadline. “The panel’s internal air gaps resulted in lightweight tanks that were easy to transport. Paneltim is also corrosion resistant and - in view of the inert nature of its polypropylene constitution - toxins will not leach into the holding system."
